The Napa Valley Coffee Roasting Company Shares Marlin’s Quality Standards Of Customer Service

Need to Preserve Capital

In early 2014, Napa Valley Coffee needed two new espresso machines, one for each of its stores.  At the same time, plans for a major store remodeling was in the works, so saving capital on the equipment outlay was a priority.

“We did not want to go into our own capital fund to replace this particular equipment,” says president and CEO Nancy N. Haynes.  “Our vendor suggested financing.  He always uses Marlin for his customers who want to lease.”

The espresso machine vendor, Dolce Neve in Petaluma, California, has been Napa Valley Coffee’s supplier for as long as they’ve been in business.  Nancy’s trust in Dolce Neve is such that when they recommended Marlin for financing, she didn’t look at another equipment finance company.

Marlin’s Impact

Financing with Marlin was Napa Valley Coffee’s first foray into equipment leasing.  Previously, when they had acquired equipment they had purchased it without financing.  Nancy explained that this was because most of their equipment has a very long useful life, so they knew they would want to own it.

“One of the reasons we were so pleased with Marlin is they had a program where we could purchase the machines at the end of the lease,” says Nancy. “They were absolutely terrific; it was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had.”

Nancy adds, “The people at Marlin are so helpful, and it’s such a seamless process. I was so impressed with the customer service from our Marlin representative.  I appreciate everything about her spirit and her work ethic. Even on a weekend, she would get right back to me, and was amazing at being on top of everything.  I would go back to them for anything I ever want to finance.”
